Review on Gorka 3 Suit

Gorka 3 suit is a Russian military uniform made from a hard wearing cotton canvas material (100% cotton fabric) with stress areas covered in brown polycotton fabric (65% polyester and 35% cotton).

The suit reflects the modern concept of a storm suit for special forces. The anatomical cut gives complete freedom of movement and allows extra clothing underneath. As for me, I bought this outfit  for my paraglider jumping and hunting.

The Gorka Suit is water repellent to some extent, but do not treat this outfit as a waterproof gear - it isn't one. But I felt pretty good under a short shower rain.

The suit consists of a hooded jacket and trousers that come with a pair of cross-shoulder braces.

The jacket has a full front opening with windproof and waterproof storm flap. The front is closed with large, canadian style buttons.

The yoke and elbows of the jacket have reinforcement panels. The panel on yoke is seamless on the shoulders, which is rather convenient under the rain because there is no stitching water can come through.

Thanks to the band of elastic around the bottom hand cuff and internal waist adjustment the jacket is very snugly and  comfortable. In addition the jacket has an adjusting elastic fastening on hem sides that makes the jacket more clinging. That was rather helpful during my paragliding jumps. So my jacket was in its normal place and not on my nose.

The handcuffs have elastics for a comfortable fit. On the upper arms there are flap pockets.

Roomy hood with a small soft visor has well adjustable tightening cords.

There are 5 pockets in a jacket: sleeve pockets, front side pockets and one inner pocket. Front pockets are decently spacious, and even with opened buttons things don't fall out easily. The upper arm pockets are a bit small, but they'll easily hold tiny trinkets such as matches or lighters.

Now, let’s see what the trousers look like.

The fit is nice while still being roomy. Thanks to the elasticated ankles and a band of elastic around the back of the calf the trousers are very tight and comfortable. When hunting, I am able to move noiselessly due to the silent cotton fabric and comfortable cut.

The pants come with belt loops and suspenders, but personally I use a belt. It's nice to have options though. The trousers also have plenty of storage space. There are capacious front flap pockets and large back pockets. Two back pockets are closed with canadian-style buttons.

The bottom of the trousers is elasticated for better insect protection. In addition, the lower parts of the pants are protected by walking gaiters. The pants are ventilated thanks to the metal groin eyelets.

Reinforced crotch and seat help to prevent or delay the blowout.

Gorka 3 suit has proved itself useful in the woods and for everyday wear. It showed good protection from wind and weather. There is no thermal insulation lining of jacket and trousers, so it makes the suit wearable both in the summer and winter. It's recommended to wear appropriate layered clothing underneath.

Conclusion

Overall, Gorka 3 has shown itself to be warm, comfortable, tough and practical, as well as smart enough for everyday wear.
